A note from Chris

Author · Builder · Lifelong learner

I've always been the person friends and family call when something doesn't make sense. For years that meant technology — the printer, the password, the thing that just broke. Lately it's been AI. My uncle Gary, who's spent his career in commercial real estate, started asking how he could use it to evaluate contracts and deals. My son — who loves to write code and wanted nothing to do with AI doing it for him — came around and started asking how it could help with the problems that had him stuck. A fellow writer wanted to know how I was using it to pick up my pace. And I keep finding myself in awe of the things my friend Chuck is building. About three months into my own journey, I realized I had something worth sharing: not just what I'd learned, but how I learned it.

I'm a storyteller. It's how I've always taught and explained things, and this book is no exception. But as I mapped it out, I knew it wasn't for someone like me — the guy who jumps in with both feet and figures it out by breaking things. I wrote it for people like my uncle. The ones who are already the best at what they do and simply want AI to help them do more.

"I made it simple enough that it won't intimidate you — and then I put you at the keyboard, building something real."

That's the method, and it works. You learn by doing, page by page, starting from the very first chapter. The early readers told me I hit the mark. What means the most is when people who use AI every single day come back and say, "I never thought of that," or "I love how you explained this." That's the promise I made to you as a reader, and it's the one I most wanted to keep.

If any of this sounds like you, pull up a chair. Let's build something.

What Early Readers Are Saying

“I was genuinely impressed by how easy it is to follow. Books like this are often written for more technical readers, but your style makes the concepts accessible to anyone.”

Chat and Cowork now share one home

Anthropic merged the separate Chat and Cowork tabs into a single window on desktop and web. You now switch between Chat and Cowork with a selector in the bottom corner of the message box. Cowork also expanded to iPhone and the web, rolling out first to Max plans.

What it affects: Chapter 4’s Research instructions. Research still lives in Chat — instead of switching tabs, pick Chat with the selector in the message box, then turn on Research from the “+” menu as described. Everything else in the book works as written.
